TREATMENT FOR HAIRLOSS

When the amount of hair lost grows higher than the normal hair fall that takes place due to the change in environment, increasing age or growth of new hairs, it is referred to as hair loss problem .Hair loss is so common that most of the time it is considered a normal variation and not a disease.Most people routinely lose between 70 and 150 hairs from their scalp each day.Scalp hair starts to thin when more hairs are lost through normal shedding than the scalp is able to renew. About 40% of the density of scalp hair has to be lost before thinning of the hair becomes noticeable.

What Causes Hair Loss?

The causes of hair loss vary, depending on the type:

1. Generalized hair loss
  • Following certain illnesses and infections
  • Prolonged vitamin deficiencies, or a deficiency of protein or iron
  • Disorder of the thyroid gland
  • Side effect of medication or medical treatment
  • Poor nutrition
  • Stress
  • Generalized hair loss is usually temporary

2. Patchy hair loss can be caused by:
  • ringworm
  • Alopecia areata: disease in which well-defined bald patches occur; it usually clears completely within 6 to 12 months without treatment. This condition involves patchy hair loss with normal underlying skin; the cause is unknown. As the hair in one patch starts to grow again, another bald patch may develop elsewhere.
  • Poor blood flow
  • Hormone problems


HOMEREMEDIES FOR HAIRLOSS:

  • Massage the scalp gently with coconut or almond oil daily for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Boil neem leaves in water. Cool, strain and rinse hair with it.
  • Take Silica in capsules one a day, makes hair stronger and thicker.
  • Take Vitamins A, B6, B12, Folic acid, biotin, and Vitamin C.
  • Massage into the scalp and hair coconut milk or Aloe Vera gel. Leave it for ½ hour, then rinse with warm water. Repeat 3 times a week.
  • Rinse hair with a mix of apple cider vinegar and sage tea to help hair grow.
  • Scrub the bald portion with onions till it becomes red. Then applying honey.
  • Make a hair pack by mixing amla (Indian goose berry) powder with one egg. Apply it to your hair and leave for half an hour. Wash hair.
  • Grind lime seeds and black pepper in equal number in some water and apply on the scalp regularly.
  • Apply a mixture of Aloe Vera with herbal powder triphala to the hair for a period of three to six months. It will result in growth of new hair.
  • Mix soaked fenugreek seeds and grind to make a paste. Massage this paste onto hair and scalp and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Wash with a mild shampoo.
  • Boil 1 cup mustard oil with 4 tablespoon henna (mehandi) leaves. Filter and bottle. Massage on the scalp regularly.
  • Drink daily a juice of alfalfa + fresh spinach or fresh coriander. Your hair will grow fast.
  • To remove copper deficiency, drink juice of carrot, lettuce, capcicum and fresh alfalfa. This is good remedy for gray hair and hair loss.
  • Apply a paste of seeds of lemon and black pepper on the bald patches.
  • Massage your scalp with brahmi oil or bhringaraj oil at bedtime to help prevent hair loss.
  • Massage the hair with vitamin E oil. This also may prevent or slow down the hair loss.
  • Licorice extract may help prevent hair loss.
  • Arnica, marigold, rosemary, or southernwood are also useful for hair loss. For best results, massage an infused oil into the scalp.
